Inheritance Record Preparation
A structured, in-person documentation service that transforms scattered wallet notes into an indexed inheritance file your heirs can follow.
Who This Is For
This service is designed for individuals and couples who hold cryptocurrency in cold storage — hardware wallets such as Ledger or Trezor, paper wallets, steel backups, or multisig arrangements — and want their heirs to inherit more than a locked device and a folder of unexplained notes.
Typical clients are long-term holders who began self-custody between 2015 and 2022, often with assets spread across multiple devices, passphrase-protected wallets, and exchange accounts that require separate documentation.
What You Receive
Your completed inheritance record includes:
- Wallet inventory index — device models, serial numbers, firmware versions, and associated blockchain networks
- Asset allocation summary — coin types and approximate allocation percentages (you provide figures; we do not access wallets)
- Recovery procedure guide — step-by-step instructions written in plain language for each wallet type
- Storage location map — where physical devices, steel plates, and paper backups are kept, cross-referenced to your safe deposit box or home safe
- Heir contact protocol — who to notify, in what order, and which professional contacts to engage
- Annual review checklist — a one-page update guide for when you add wallets or change storage
What Is Excluded
- We do not hold, copy, or store seed phrases, private keys, or passphrases
- We do not provide legal estate planning, tax advice, or trust formation
- We do not execute transactions or recover wallets on your behalf
- We do not guarantee asset recovery — we prepare documentation only
The Process
Session 1 — Intake (90 minutes): You bring your devices (powered off), existing notes, and any prior documentation. We conduct a structured interview covering wallet history, backup methods, and heir designations. No photography of seed material.
Between sessions: Our documentarian drafts the inheritance record based on your intake. You review a redacted preview via encrypted email.
Session 2 — Review and delivery (60 minutes): We walk through the final document together, correct any inaccuracies, and provide two printed copies in tamper-evident envelopes plus an encrypted digital archive on a USB drive you supply.
Provider
Records are prepared by certified documentarians at System Birch Way under the supervision of Min-jun Park, lead inheritance records specialist. All staff complete annual cold storage security training.
